Children DNA Change & Questions

The article I read was about DNA change in children of liquefiers, or workers in Chernobyl. There was a sevenfold increase in new bands between siblings before and after radiation. He amount of radiation in the children is dependent on the time between exposure and conception and the time spent working. Low radiation doses can cause multiple changes in human DNA.
Questions:
How many times more bands were in post Chernobyl kids than in pre Chernobyl children?
What are the factors in the DNA change.
